The Buzz: DOCTOR WHO – The Waters of Mars

The Doctor is back!

Doctor Who fans have been a bit deprived this year after the BBC allowed David Tennant to go and play Hamlet instead of saving the universe from aliens, and the viewing public from crap like X-Factor… Still mustn’t grumble, instead we shall just rejoice in the fact that Sunday will see the return of the good doctor to our telly boxes, and if the trailer is anything to go by this will be a good one!

The sad news for Doctor Who fans though is this, after The Water of Mars airs this week the fantastic 10th Doctor David Tennant will have only one more mission as the time lord. Yes it is true, sadly after the two-part Christmas special, Matt Smith will be taking the reins of the TARDIS.

But still we got David T for a few more adventures and who knows perhaps Mr Smith will turn out to be a good doctor… And if he doesn’t we will just sick a few Daleks on him to “EXTERMINATE” him for somebody better!

The Waters of Mars will be broadcast on BBC One on 15 November 2009.

Easter Weekend; The festival of Geek| New RED DWARF & DOCTOR WHO

OK geeks of Britain. This weekend was made for you… well and as it is Easter, looking for chocolate eggs as well!

Last night we saw the return of Red Dwarf after 10 years lost in space! And it was just like it had never left our screens!

Don’t worry though if you missed the first episode, there are two more, and I am sure you will be able to catch-up!

And if the return of Red Dwarf is not enough for you out there in geek land, tonight 6:45pm, the Doctor returns, in a one-off special Doctor Who; Planet of the Dead, and not only is it going to be one of David Tennant’s last outings as the Doctor, but Outside the Box favourite Michelle Ryan will be there to sex-up the screen a bit!

The trailer for the new Doctor Who special, Planet of the Dead aired last night before The Apprentice, and I am excited. Not only is the doctor returning but he is bringing the gorgeous Michelle Ryan with him! What more can one ask for?

So the closest guarded secret in television has finally been revealed. The silence has finally ended and if you listen very carefully you can here his name blowing in the wind from the UK. Yes folks the 11th Doctor Who is:

BBC to unveil the new Doctor Who

One of the greatest topic of debate in around the water-cooler here at OtB Headquarters is the question: Who will be the New Doctor Who?

Well… my guess is that it is going to be a surprise choice, Billie Piper perhaps? Or more likely Richard Tovey, but after watching the Christmas special, I am hoping not David Morrisey.

Whoever it is though, we will find out tomorrow at 5:35pm when the BBC unveil the identity of the new Doctor on a special BBC1 edition of Doctor Who Confidential.

DOCTOR WHO… Christmas preview

The holidays are coming, and that means the Doctor Who special is coming… and I have been digging for details but my shovel keeps coming up with little in it. In fact most of the stuff I have discovered about the Christmas episode you could probably gather from the trailer which I have posted below, but what I do know is this:

• The Doctor arrives in London 1851.
• He finds himself fighting side by side with a girl called Rosita.
• And another Doctor, and not the medical kind either!
• The other Doctor is like Doctor Who, he has his own TARDIS, his own sonic screwdriver, and he is called, ‘The Doctor’.
• Oh and I know there is Cybermen as well.

I guess to find out anything else I am just going to have wait until Christmas Day, and until then, I will just have to watch the trailer a few hundred more times!
